so much has broken in the last fifteen
to twenty minutes.
We're going to talk about
I love the chase and the hunt,
and I set the pace when I'm running.
I always take what I want,
and I always give it one hundred.
Don't need a bank, no I'm funded.
Play the game like it's nothing.
I'm always thankful for something.
Don't take for granted, stay humble.
Now wake up!
It's time to look at the enemy.
Look in the mirror if he is no
friend to me.
It's not working out,
maybe it's the chemistry.
It's time to break up so I can
make a better me.
D-E-M-M-E!
It's lunchtime.
It is just that.
It is lunchtime.
Lunch with the Clydesdale and the Cowboy.
We are here live on a Friday afternoon.
So good to be with you all.
Helson Abernaz says, great day.
Dad and mom hashing it out on Savan.
Arnold Classic going on.
Seven hundred and one pound deadlift for
the women's record.
And it's Friday.
Let's go.
Seven hundred and one pounds.
So I've had marathon meetings this
morning.
So I have not been able to tune
into the Arnold.
I will.
I'll go back and watch it.
As you should.
However,
the one thing I am assuring you of,
I am going nowhere near downtown Columbus.
I would imagine not.
There's like a force field bubble over
that says Scott will not enter this area
of Columbus this weekend.
I don't blame you, dude.
I don't like that many people.
I just don't.
It is one of the coolest events to
come to this town.
And if you live here and you've never
gone, you should go one time.
Right.
I've gone eight.
I am done.
I feel like you've, yeah,
you've hit your quota.
Yeah, I, yeah.
My daughter wanted to go watch the Strong
Women one year.
We went.
It took us an hour to get from
the front door to the stage where the
Strong Women were competing.
Mm-mm.
Yeah.
Thank you.
Yeah.
It was, it was horrific.
Yeah.
Horrific.
Like I'm, I'm not okay with that.
I'm just telling you right now,
I would not be okay with that.
And back when, when I took her,
it was like, it was like,
it was like, it was like,
it was like, it was like,
it was like, it was like,
it was like, it was like,
it was like, it was like,
it was like, it was like,
it was like, it was like, yeah,
that's even, that's just, you just adding,
you just stacking reasons on top of
reasons at that point.
And they've moved the Strongman and
Strongwomen to a back corner where I think
you have to pay extra to get into
that section now.
It's always been if you wanted to go
to the finals of the bodybuilding show,
you had to pay extra.
But now Strongman has gotten so big at
the Arnold that it is now, I think,
an extra ticket to get into that.
And I just threw my phone on the
floor.
Well...
I don't think you're going to need it
right now, to be honest with you.
Yeah, no thanks.
No thanks.
That sounds like the equivalent of me
going downtown New Orleans for Mardi Gras.
Like, I'm just not doing it.
Too many people, too much stuff going on,
too much money to get there,
just to even get there.
I'm good.
I don't need it.
It's fine.
I'll be just fine.
Yeah.
Stens has been there so many times.
Didn't go last year.
Thought about going this year,
but it's too expensive.
Then driving and paying for parking.
Yeah.
It really is.
And there's a lot of parking at the
convention center,
and there's a lot of parking around the
convention center.
But the parking is not designed for the
number of people that show up for the
Arnold.
I'm sure it's not.
It's better just to Uber.
And then you got to pay like the
higher Uber price because everybody's
trying to get there.
Because it's a premium event.
Well, yeah.
And so now it's, well,
you want to get there.
Oh,
like normally this is an eight dollar
ride, but today it's yeah.
A hundred percent.
No, thanks.
I'm good.
I'm good.
Enough about the Arnold.
Well,
maybe we'll talk about that in the slow
times of next week, but right.
Um, but yeah, it's kicked off today.
Tons of athletes in town.
Good luck to all of them.
Hope they do great in their events.
Uh,
Yesterday was twenty six point two
announcement.
Like it.
Love it.
Want some more of it.
I don't want to jinx myself,
but they almost could not have written a
better workout for me.
Like the only way it could have been
better is if it had been a barbell
with front squats and a front rack walking
lunge instead of instead of a dumbbell
snatches.
Yeah, I like it a lot.
I told several people I might do it
again just for funsies after I do it
this afternoon,
just because it looks like it's fun.
I love doing gymnastics.
In general, I like the idea of the,
you know,
earn your way towards your ring
muscle-ups.
I love,
I have been working on ring muscle-ups
since the last time we had them,
and I could not get over the rings.
And at that point, I said,
I'm never going to let this beat me
again in a live workout.
And I've only had the opportunity to
actually do them in live competition one
weekend before
A year and a half ago,
whenever that was,
the last time I did beach brawl because
Ryan actually programmed them for that
weekend.
Every other time,
it's always end up being bar.
So I'm pretty pumped.
Uh,
this is one that's a redoable one anyway,
right?
It's not,
it's not going to rip you up that
you can't come back and try it two
or three more times.
A hundred percent.
I could, in theory,
I could do this today, tomorrow, Sunday,
and Monday if I wanted to,
and really not be that worse, uh,
that much worse off for it.
know you probably your shoulders will
probably get a little feel feel a little
something you know and if you're not a
fantastic lunger you know then yeah maybe
you might get a little sore from that
but it's it's quick it's gonna be over
it's gonna be over quickly i'm i'm fine
i'm fine i love it dude
So I know people are hitting the comments.
I know you throw,
people are throwing news at us.
We we've got it all.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So.
The lunge is really only three,
eighty foot lunges.
Yeah, it's two hundred forty feet.
It's not that it's not even that's not
even like a big.
Yeah,
we did a lot of squats last week.
I think that this is this is something
that is not going to create enough
disturbance for you to have to redo.
No.
And so now my question is,
yesterday you called Lucy Campbell to win.
It got tight.
It got tight.
Amy Kringle came out of nowhere with a
pretty good set of ring muscle-ups to
catch up,
but she just couldn't make up enough
ground to get the win.
I said in my group chat with Carolyn
and Jamie and Lex that I think those
are pretty good times.
They initially told me, no way.
This morning I get a text from Carolyn
going, it might've been right.
Turns out maybe it was actually a good
time.
Yeah.
Yeah.
When the second place girl at the games
wins the open workout right there, a lot,
you know, the Wednesday announcement live,
then it's probably going to be a pretty
decent time.
Just, just throwing that out there.
Just doing that as a, for instance, right.
CJ this morning on the WOD Prep podcast
contended that Miriam sucked her in.
Yeah.
She went faster on the first part than
she wanted to.
I don't know if she did it on
purpose or
necessarily like I don't know if that was
her mindset like I'm gonna go super fast
on these lunges and these these pull-ups
and whatnot and try to bait these two
girls into a race I don't know if
that's necessarily her mindset because I
don't know her that well but I would
definitely say that that that's ended
ended up what happened right because like
when she got no repped on that on
that lunge and she had to go and
do the whole section again she was still
in the fight like that's how fast she
was going
That's insane, right?
I think that's just how fast Mira moves.
I don't think it was a strategy to
go that fast and bait people in.
I think that is just how she moves.
And she knows she was the weakest of
the three on the ring muscle-up.
So get a lead and try to hang
on.
Yeah.
Do what you can.
Like, I mean,
she's trying to maximize her score at that
point as well.
And it's like they were talking about this
morning.
It's,
it's not a secret that she is her
ring muscle up capacity is not fantastic
for any elite athlete.
Yeah.
So let's hit a couple comments.
Trish says,
most fun open workout in recent memory and
easy to redo.
Looks like a fun one.
David just says, yo,
he did it four hours ago and feels
fine.
How many times do you think the elites
will try this to get the score they
wanted?
I think some elites don't care.
they're gonna bang it out and move on
and then i think some are trying to
get win some cash and if they had
a good score and a high placing on
event one they're gonna do it enough to
get a high placing for event two did
you see colton carl colton's post from
yesterday uh kind of again i was in
tons of meetings today he said uh world
record or nothing oh wow
Just saying.
Train all of.
I felt real good this week,
especially compared to last week.
Yeah.
And then Larry Young thought about trying
practice ring muscle-ups,
but think I'll just see what happens when
I get to them.
Definitely going to regret not working on
them more.
He's going to get some.
I think he will.
He's too strong, dude.
He's too strong.
And then Jay Burch just wants to stalk
you this weekend and wants to know where
you're going to be.
Oh, no, because I said in theory.
So he's being a smartass.
Yes, I'm doing it in theory.
He's optimistic about ring muscle-ups,
but we'll see.
Billy Bob Horton,
twin brother of Billy Bob Thornton,
says hoping to finish the rings.
Yep.
Without the no rep,
it would have been close.
No, because she fell apart on the rings.
Compared to the other two,
she fell apart on the rings.
Trish says,
bang it out and move on is how
I met my first husband.
Yeah.
My wife.
Understandable.
All right.
I was surprised muscle ups are in the
older age groups.
If you go to the games for the
older athletes,
what they are able to do today that
they could not do two years ago will
blow your mind.
And it's gated.
Everybody's going to get to play all the
way up and you get to prove what
you can do.
And last year they, they, they,
Well,
wildly overcorrected because last year it
was burpee pull ups instead of bar muscle
ups for fifty five plus.
And like I know for a fact,
one of my best friends in the entire
world,
he was fifty five plus and is a
ridiculous athlete, was highly upset.
that because he can do he can bang
out more muscle ups like it's not a
big deal and they scaled them all the
way down so like they the fact that
dave listened this year and was like okay
y'all want to do muscle ups cool let's
do muscle ups yeah i i think last
year they went too safe in the older
age groups
I would rather see it at,
at this level.
And then if you don't have a ring
muscle up,
get through the rest of it as fast
as you freaking can.
A hundred percent.
So.
Yeah.
Why get upset?
Because you can do the skill.
You should be allowed to do the skill.
And because if you've never done a burpee
pull up,
it's way worse than doing a bar muscle
up.
It's so much more work.
So you're punishing the people who've been
working on those skills for ever for as
long as, as long as they have been,
as opposed to, Hey,
here's your pat on the back,
go ahead and do your bar muscle ups.
And if you can't do them and Hey,
work on them, get better.
And I think,
I think the open sets the tone for
the season.
If you overscale at the open and,
The people running the events forward tend
to follow suit with whatever you have
done.
And I think that's the biggest key of
the last couple years,
if you follow the age groups,
is that the people programming at the
games followed suit.
And there were tons of athletes who made
it to the games,
wanted a games experience,
have skills that they want to show off,
and didn't get the opportunity to do so.
Yep.
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
Yes, I would agree with that, David.
Larry Young says, all I know,
an AARP card toting,
two hundred sixty five pound noob getting
their first ring muscle up would be open
magic.
Just don't think I'll have it after all
the pulling and shoulder fatigue.
Well, not with that attitude, Larry.
You're going to have a lot more time
than you think you will,
and you are a lot stronger than you
– I've seen you do your practically strict
bar muscle-ups, dude.
Give yourself some more credit.
Seriously.
Or take a just Reese Littlewood do it.
You said what I was thinking.
I was like, Reese Witherspoon?
Reese Witherspoon is doing the open.
It's outstanding.
Weed Home Alabama.
Yes.
Yes.
No, Reese Littlewood did it,
and she's amazing.
We know she's amazing.
She is quietly lurking to become one of
the big athletes in space very, very soon.
More power to her.
And she has the right attitude and the
right demeanor to just kill it.
Love to see you.
The thirty-five pound dumbbell is odd for
fifty-five plus.
It's what it was last year, David.
So that part I think I'm okay with,
especially with the upper shoulder
mobility of an overhead.
That is one thing that is not –
you definitely see deteriorate as you get
to the higher level of events is the
shoulder mobility is –
is awful as you get to the older
age groups for sure um us old people
just do not do enough mobility uh to
keep that stuff in in play i'll say
this too as far as that thirty five
pound is concerned is that um for the
people who on the upper side of that
uh you just get to go faster
Because it's lighter.
So it hurts more because now you're going
faster because it's lighter.
I don't feel one way or the other
about it, but I just,
that's my very casual.
I am not fifty five observation.
Uh, David also says, once I finished,
I may rethink my stance on the thirty
five pounds.
I am sure you will,
because when I was younger,
when I was in my forties and I
would scale back and I would say,
I'm strong enough to do that.
And then I would lower the weight.
I'm like,
a good thing I did that because I
would have that would have sucked at the
higher weight.
Last Wednesday,
we had a workout at the gym that
had devil's presses in it.
It was like five at a time,
but it was ten rounds.
It was like fifty altogether.
And we had programmed it with the
thirty-fives, right, for dudes.
And one of the guys in my class
was like,
when we normally use fifties for devil's
press,
And our head coach, like owner,
is in there taking class.
And he turned and looked at him and
was like, hey, man, go for it.
Nobody's going to stop you from grabbing
the fifties.
I said, why are you over there?
You go ahead and get the seventies.
If you're really feeling froggy about it,
dog, go ahead and grab some.
Like, trust me, you're going to be fine.
Shanna thinks they should relax some of
the standards for the older people,
though.
Like toes above the bar should be allowed
in older age groups.
Like a glide kip.
I'm assuming that's what he's talking
about.
I get what you're saying.
Okay.
I thought she meant on a toes to
bar.
Like when I did my toes to the
second bar.
To the second bar.
Yeah.
It's just.
It still didn't count.
Extra work right there.
Yeah.
Larry says,
John sent him a video from WOD prep.
I'm like, bro, it's too late.
Never too late.
My best friend used to,
he was every open workout.
He'd come in going,
just watch the video on YouTube.
And then it would just jack him up
because he's trying something he never
tried before in the gym.
But he always would dive into like,
I found out how to do a better
thruster.
Okay, dude,
we've only done like five thousand of them
in the last three months.
But now you got it.
Now you got a new technique the day
of the open workout.
every time he would do it every time
you let me know how that works day
at home boy that's fantastic oh it was
um if i could find some of the
videos of like his first or second rep
trying the new technique and it not even
looking like a crossfit movement that's
fantastic oh so do you think anybody's
gonna beat the scores from yesterday
I think anybody in a female side,
do you want to beat the score from
yesterday?
Oh man.
What was Lucy's time?
Six something.
I don't even,
I don't even know the time.
I just saw like, to me,
it's all about the muscle ups and how
fast you can get through them.
It is.
And yeah,
her sets were pretty big and so i
in my head the first thing that popped
into my head was alex kazan because her
upper body pulling is so strong and then
i see emma lawson from lupe in here
i think that's that's a strong pick uh
i'll put it like this like this if
anybody does it's gonna be few and far
between i don't think there's gonna be
like a ton of scores above them like
maybe like the people you just mentioned
like alex emma
I'm trying to think if there's anybody
else in there that maybe Paige Powers is
ridiculous on the rings.
So I think she's probably got a shot.
Six fifty.
Vicki helps us out with the six fifty.
So I'll be lucky to get to the
rings by six fifty.
Yes,
that's really all that like popped into my
head of the top athletes.
Daniel Brandon's really good at ring
muscle ups, too.
And her long strides on the lunges.
The lunges could help her out, yeah.
So I see Train Olive saying Ariel.
I don't know if rings are really her
bag.
If it was handstand walks with this,
I would give her a pretty good shot
at it.
I don't think she's the muscle-up person
that Alex, Emma, and Danielle are.
Or Paige.
Or Paige.
I don't even think I can go out
Alexis.
But I hear you, Vicky.
So.
DBE's overhead mobility is unmatched.
Vicky says Paige is a great call.
Paige is fit, dude.
Like.
mom strength,
whatever you want to call it.
Like she is roaring on the comeback trail
after having that baby.
In the, uh,
water is wet and the sky is blue
comment.
Yeah.
Would get the win on two, six, two,
if not pregnant.
Tia might get the win on two, six,
two being pregnant.
Like, yeah, no kidding.
No kidding.
In other news,
the us postal service delivers mail.
There we go.
Um,
Any dude you think will kill this?
Colton is going to smash this.
I'm trying to think of who else has
got elite level ring muscle-ups.
I don't know where Pat Vellner is with
his heart stuff,
but he would be my pick in any
other year.
Yeah, Pat Spritting, I mean,
he was a gymnast,
so it'd be kind of hard to root
against him as far as that's concerned.
Who else?
We have Victor Hoffer.
That's a good one.
Victor's a ridiculous puller.
Helson has Justin Medeiros.
Ricky.
Ricky.
Ricky Mack, maybe.
I don't put him in that elite, elite.
But, I mean, he's good.
I just keep thinking about him and Matt
at the games doing ring muscle-ups
side-by-side in that workout.
And, like,
he was a what-and-what with Matt up until
he wasn't.
And Matt was a ridiculous.
So, yeah, maybe, maybe not.
Jay Crouch, that's a good one, Vic.
Yeah.
I think Victor Hoffer is going to make
my pick.
I think Victor Hoffer is probably the pick
for me.
I still want to – just because I
know – I say no,
but just because of what I've seen Colton
do, especially when underestimated, yes,
he's got short legs.
I understand that as far as the lunges
are concerned.
It just means he's got to take an
extra step.
Yeah,
but he's going to knock out the first
two matches so fast,
and his snatches will be so fast.
He's just so range of motion.
If he can jump up and do a
huge set right out the bat,
I don't know if anybody's going to go
and broke him.
Jeff Adler, question mark?
I think he'll be decent.
I don't think he's going to be competing
for a top time.
Um,
no is good at rings and he's short
for other movements.
I know is probably a decent pick.
I just don't,
I don't know how much he's willing to
hurt.
Like Colton will out hurt him.
Colts can out hurt everybody.
Like he's going to hold on.
It doesn't matter what else has happened.
So, okay.
Yeah, because Victor Hoffer,
the overhead mobility won't be even an
issue for him at all in those lunges.
It's just going to be getting down,
and then he'll kill all the gymnastics
movements.
Yes,
I'll take Victor Hoffer because I don't
want to pick the same person everybody
else is picking.
Well, understandable.
Understandable.
My money's still on Colton.
I'll flock in with the sheep.
Not a big deal.
Jody asks, speaking of Vellner,
I'm curious if he'll get rejected to
compete at the games with the contentious
atmosphere post-Lazer.
I think if a doctor signs off on
his note, it won't matter.
Yeah.
The doctor's note thing,
I still think it's hilarious because
My actual PCP, not Jeremy,
my physical therapist,
is my wife's first cousin.
So like, Dwayne,
I need you to sign off on this
thing so I can compete again.
He'd be like, all right,
send it to me.
I understand the thought behind it,
but it seems like a whole lot more
of just a CYA than anything else.
Speaking of that,
I've been debating whether sharing this or
not,
because I have shared all my health stuff.
But with everything going on,
just so everybody knows,
I went back into AFib through all these
procedures I've gone through in the last
month and a half.
And...
I've been really having a hard time in
the last couple weeks keeping my heart
rate down.
And with that,
I've been in communication with my
cardiologist this week.
And I have a CardiaMobile.
I don't know if you guys have ever
seen the commercial for that.
It takes an EKG at your house.
And I send him strips like all the
time.
And they're going to...
They're going to do a cardio version next
Friday for me to get me back into
rhythm.
And now that everything else is fixed,
hoping that that is what like getting
through all that will finally be done with
this heart thing.
So I feel for, for Pat,
I know what it feels like when your
heart rate jumps around and jumps up and
And it, and just to be completely honest,
it's happening a lot post-COVID.
That's all I'm going to say about it.
Um, the AFib stuff is, is bounced around.
I know he had a flutter.
I have a fib.
They're a little bit different,
but kind of the same.
And, uh,
And it's really been,
it's actually affected me even trying to
do open workouts because if it's elevated,
the doctor does not want me to do
it.
I have to keep it down.
And then I have to wear a watch
while I'm doing it.
And if it goes above a thing,
I have to stop.
So anyway, that's all that stuff.
So this is my third AFib trip.
David went into a fib last year too.
Um, yeah,
it didn't seem to be a thing prior
to twenty twenty.
Now it's kind of a thing.
It's weird.
And every like all a ton of people
I know now pop in and out of
a fib all the time.
So anyway,
so I'm trying I'm going to try to
do the workout this weekend if I can
keep my heart rate down to do it.
Um,
it doesn't that doesn't lend itself to
getting a super fast time at anything,
but
I want to get back to where I'm
Larry,
worried about my heart rate for other
reasons.
Correct.
Yeah.
See, Scott,
you got stuff in common with several games
athletes.
David, Pat Belner.
I mean, y'all have what and what,
honestly.
Pretty much got the same thing happening.
Yeah,
I'm afraid I'm going to have to have
an ablation done at some point,
but I have been trying to push that
off a little bit.
Judy.
Um, yeah.
So just to give you an idea on
Wednesday,
when I did my strip for the cardiologist,
my heart rate was one,
and beats per minute and resting.
Holy smokes, dude.
Yeah.
Can we not?
Yeah.
So I got it down to ninety yesterday.
I need to take it after the show
today.
Um,
but it's just trying to get to next
Friday.
For people that don't know,
I'm going to just go ahead and say
it.
If his is at a hundred and eleven,
mine right now is probably at fifty seven
because I'm just sitting here not doing
anything, which is fairly normal anywhere.
Sixty,
sixty five beats a minute is probably
pretty normal for a normal human male guy
just sitting around.
So, yeah, we need to get that fixed.
Well,
my normal resting rhythm is high sixties,
low seventies.
Yeah.
So yeah,
it is definitely elevated for sure.
But I can tell you without even taking
it today, it's not one, it is much,
much lower than that.
Well,
I'm sure you're way more in tune to
it now than you were previously because
you need to be.
Yeah.
Um, do you have a whoop?
I don't, I use like a Garmin watch.
Garment all day, baby.
I think what whoop charges a month is
criminal.
Makes no sense.
Why do that when I can just buy
a one-time purchase of a watch and it
does the same thing?
I had that conversation with one of the
girls at the gym about three months ago
because she was, I'm getting a whoop.
It should be in soon.
And she's like,
what do you think about it?
And I said,
I think I bought a Garmin that does
more than what your whoop does and I
only had to pay for it once.
Yeah, and my Garmin watch,
I can look and actually see what time
it is.
Look at that.
I'm just saying.
Oh, Shanna says, by the way,
Pat will be fine.
Good to go.
Ablations work so well.
Yeah.
What do you share, doctor?
Oh, yeah, you are.
Yeah,
I think that's where I'm probably headed
at some point here.
My Apple watch detected my AFib.
Yeah.
My Garmin detected it for me too.
So yeah.
Anyway,
this has been an issue for three years.
This isn't like a new thing,
but the stress of all the doctors believe
that with the stress of everything,
the biopsy and the sinus surgery and
everything else, it just,
and going under a couple of times and
all of that, it just sent me.
You've been through a lot here lately.
So yeah, I can understand.
That would seem to make sense.
And I didn't even mention that they
chipped my tooth intubating me last time.
So I have that.
I had to deal with too.
So there we go.
All the fun things.
Anyway, it's a good thing.
I have my third Z to help me
sleep at night and kind of at least
recover and get calmed down and you can
get it to it.
Third Z.com backslash Jazzy or use Jazzy
at checkout to get twenty five percent off
your order now through the end of the
open.
It's freaking awesome.
Uh,
the added stress of it all is probably
awesome for your heart rate.
She says sarcastically.
Yeah, probably not.
And actually every time I go into AFib,
my heart rate elevates that it's just a,
it's synced together somehow.
I'm not an MDL one,
so I don't know exactly the reason behind
that, but I'm sure Shanna does.
She probably does.
And that's way too technical to get into
on a Friday afternoon.
Lupe says, okay, good.
Their HR detection is not as good as
whoop, but good enough.
Okay.
We'll agree to disagree.
I had a whoop for a good many
years and I paid the thirty whatever
dollars a month to them.
And at some point I was like,
enough is enough.
Because I couldn't even tell time.
Or go for or like time your run
or whatever.
I'm not going to get into it cause
it's just going to make me mad.
No.
Moving right along.
Yeah.
For that chip too thin by CrossFit right
now, David,
I'm just trying to get them to pay
for the dentist visit.
How about, yeah.
How about we just,
if I can just get that right now,
I'll be cool.
Let's start small, David.
I understand.
I like where you hit that,
but let's start small.
Yeah.
Um,
So a couple things happened before we went
on the air.
If you didn't see it.
The thing I said I wasn't going to
talk about anymore.
I'm going to talk about it only for
a second.
And that is the Hiller Taylor self beef
apparently has come to possibly an end.
I just apologized publicly to Taylor self
on the Savan show this morning.
And Taylor said he accepted the apology
and they started to hash and talk and
explain things out a little bit.
I did not make it all the way
to the end before the shoe show,
but it looks like that is over.
Oh, and Lito is in the chat.
And she reminds me,
she sent me something this morning.
What is my biggest pet peeve in the
sport?
Oh, wow.
That's an excellent question.
I have some pet peeves.
Yeah, I know.
But you have several of them.
So you're going to need to be a
lot more specific.
So I'm going to show this video that
Lito sent me because she knows me so
well.
are you freaking kidding me dude the judge
had to move her out the way uh-uh
i'd have ran over
Media should not be allowed on the floor.
Competition floor is for judges and
athletes only.
I don't care if you're broadcast.
I don't care if you're taking pictures.
I don't care.
We have the technology with lenses that
you can zoom in from the moon and
get pictures on the floor.
Even if she's allowed on the floor,
why would you step in front of someone
who is about to start lunging towards you?
Here's my point.
She probably does have the authority to be
on the floor.
But CrossFit has to stop.
This is ridiculous.
Yeah.
Go to the games live and they've got
cameramen all over the floor obstructing
the view from the spectators.
And then you bitch and complain that you
can't sell tickets.
Right.
Ridiculous.
Go to a football game, a baseball game,
a boxing match.
Do you see cameramen in the ring in
an MMA fight?
No,
because they get their heads knocked off.
I haven't, but now that you said that,
I kind of want to.
It is utterly,
utterly ridiculous that anybody is allowed
to be on the floor other than athletes
and judges.
That's it.
Full stop.
Right there.
Shoot the damn floor from the side or
the end.
I got a reel that they,
or just some, no, I'm sorry,
just some raw footage from my first year
at Legends where the dude was, I was,
we had that sandbag workout and you had
to,
so many cleans and then you had to
walk around with it,
like make a little lap,
two circles or whatnot.
And I almost cleared the dude out.
And I know them cameras are expensive.
And when I tell you he was,
his lens was insane.
six inches from the hundred and fifty
pound bag I had on my shoulder that
I was trying to go as fast as
possible as I could with it.
And like I wasn't stopping.
I remember clearly thinking to myself,
I will run you over before I like
before you get in my way.
It's not going to happen.
I got I weigh one hundred and eighty
five pounds in this bag weighs one fifty.
We're going to win this fight.
OK, I froze this video.
Oh, my God.
That dumbbell is right above that camera.
Almost right above her head.
Yeah.
Lucy drops that.
Then this person's going to be pissed.
This person's going to complain that they
were injured on the floor and they're
going to want it all paid for when
you were the idiot that put yourself in
that situation.
A hundred percent.
We talked about this when the WFP guy
was taking crotch shots or people doing
GHD sit-ups from the crotch position.
Yeah.
Let me get in there.
Why is that needed?
Why was that needed?
Let me get in there.
Let me get in there.
Hold on.
Look, I'm right here.
Right here.
I swear to God,
every time I'm at a semifinal or a
games event,
they have the damn cameraman standing
right in the middle of the lane trying
to get that one-on-one shot that nobody
wants on the broadcast anyway.
No.
What are you doing that for?
Who's that for?
And you're obstructing everybody's view.
Go ahead.
I saw it.
Shanna's saying that she had,
I had another athlete's judge in my lane
at the games during a handstand walk.
I had to kick down and yell at
her to get out of my way,
lost so much time.
I cannot fathom being at our thing's
highest level competition and having
somebody who's on the judging staff,
not just out of position,
but out of position so far that you
are interrupting my event.
would have i'd have gone nuclear i'd have
lost my mind completely like i don't think
i would have been i'd have had enough
cool uh to just apparently you know
shannon just yelled at her to get out
the way and then trying to continue on
that event there's no way frida said this
is something that made me change
affiliates as well people running across
my marked area while doing snatches
It's dangerous.
It is.
It's dangerous for them.
It's dangerous for you.
It's distracting for you.
Like all the things you pick a thing.
Andrew Sten says, Shanda, Shanda,
that sucks.
Judges and media should always be aware of
where they are and what's going on around
them.
I tell them head on a swivel.
Always.
I'm past the point of excusing media.
I am one of them.
Right.
I am part of media.
We should not be allowed on the floor.
No.
No other sport allows it.
No other sport allows it.
There are good lenses to take good shots
from off to the side or on the
end or get one of those floating cameras
above the,
that is remote control and use that.
Did you see how big the lens on
her camera was?
She could have took that shot from space.
There was no reason for her to get
that close.
None.
None.
On the next episode of Snapped.
Yeah.
Could you imagine Lucy getting blocked and
chucking the dumbbell like that judge did?
Like the girl did at the judge?
The judge?
Yeah.
Can you imagine if you got no rep
an entire length of handstand walk because
a media person got in the way?
Oh my God, I'd be so absolutely fuming.
That's real.
Lito's red hair would ignite.
It's already, it's already,
it looks like it's on fire to begin
with.
It would actually be on fire at that
point.
So Lita, I'm trying to keep Lito.
I'm trying to keep my,
my heart rate down and you send me
this video.
Yeah.
Just kidding.
Lito is partially responsible for Scott
going into AFib this morning.
Anyway, there's that.
Um,
So, well,
other thing is we got news from the
WFP.
Not the WFP.
Yeah, we did from them too.
Oh, yeah.
That one first.
Well, I have that one.
I just said that.
Tour Stop One qualifiers are over.
They apparently,
if you read the barbell spin,
they had enough people contact them that
they wouldn't be competing at Tour Stop
One that they took the top twenty in
the qualifiers.
Oh.
So here are your top-twenty qualifiers on
the men's side.
I'm not going to read every name because
I don't even know them all,
but Georges Kerevis, Fabian Benito,
Victor Hellingsoff, Toby Buckland,
Alex Katoulis, Reggie Fassa,
Samuel Kornwaye.
Sure, sure.
Quinn Robinson, Tom Kingdom.
Yeah, there you go.
And on the women's side...
Good luck to those people.
And on the women's side, Alia Storen,
Andre Moustis.
Moustis.
Nicole Heer.
Mathilde Garnes.
I know who that is.
Sure, sure, sure.
Astrid Tin.
M. Day Gooch.
Carolyn Prevo.
Nope.
Hey, I know who she is.
Hannah Hardy.
Blair Chaney.
I definitely know who Hannah Hardy is.
That's my girl.
Will be competing in London at tour stop
one.
I didn't even know Carolyn was doing them.
That's how private she is about this
stuff.
And then I saw that this morning and
I text her and she's like, yep.
And she's like, yeah, of course.
Uh, back to the judge.
I was so mad.
I ran over to the head judge afterward.
They didn't care.
My own judge was flabbergasted.
Uh,
they don't even care about masters
athletes.
Anyway, we care about masters athletes.
Uh, M is an absolute stud masters.
Forty and went to individual semifinals
two years ago.
Yeah.
Sten says, I've been a head judge.
Your situation clearly didn't happen on my
floor.
I would have lost my shit if I
saw that.
He would have.
Can't confirm Andrew Sten is a good dude.
He will definitely listen to you if you
have some judging concerns that are going
on,
even if it's not going on in your
heat necessarily.
Because I brought up some stuff to him
at Legends this year.
And then the last piece of breaking news
that happened this morning is MFC.
MFC.
made an announcement saying that there are
changes coming to the master's fitness
championship.
And essentially what I got out of watching
the video was there will not be a
twenty twenty six Masters Fitness
Championship.
Right.
And they are moving from September to
June.
Yes.
They're moving from the convention center
in Fort Wayne to a college campus.
Which is right next to where the other
venue was, if I'm not mistaken.
Around, yeah.
Yeah, like I'm not right next door,
obviously, but it's like down the street.
Yeah.
It'll still be in Fort Wayne.
Yeah.
And then what they did not say that
sounds like they're attempting to become
is a qualifier for the CrossFit Games.
Right.
If you're moving to June and you're going
through all of this to get to a
place where you can change the time of
the year,
I think that is what you are doing.
Stence is back to bad hotel area.
I don't think...
If you go downtown Fort Wayne,
there's some really good hotels.
And it's literally a five or ten minute
drive to where the convention center was.
Around the convention center,
the hotels were atrocious.
Now,
the one corner I stayed in was not
bad.
But I heard a lot of horror stories
about some of the others.
From Jamie.
Yes.
yeah it's still one of my favorite stories
um so but they have a twelve minute
video out kind of giving I think it's
because they don't have the official word
from CrossFit that they're going to be a
games qualifier but they had to get the
word out somehow I guess I don't know
why it had to be this early but
So their qualifier is not usually till
like for another two months or so is
when they normally would put it out.
So I did think there was a little
bit on the early side or whatnot.
And I was actually talking to Vicky right
before we came on here.
I'm a little bit bummed because I was
planning on actually doing their qualifier
just because I wanted to actually like
give, leave no doubt this year.
Cause last year I kind of, you know,
screwed the pooch a little bit.
And even though I'm,
I technically still qualified in Elite.
They sent me an RX invite.
Whatever.
Not a big deal.
I'm over it, sort of, kind of.
Maybe not.
But I was going to do it again
this year,
if for no other reason than the fact
that, like,
They had eight events,
and everybody did all of them.
And I went to Legends,
and there were six events,
and everybody did not do all of them.
I was one of the people that did
not.
I got boned myself out of the last
one on the very last day and ended
up only doing five.
And for what it cost me to bring
my entire family there to go watch me
compete,
I was going to say about going back
to Fort Wayne.
Andrew, he's not.
He is definitely not.
Hey, I'm going to tell you this, Stan.
Spite is a hell of a motivator.
Spite is a hell of a motivator,
and I am Richard Petty.
You understand?
I am Petty.
So I was one hundred percent looking
forward to doing that qualifier and just
knocking it out the park.
And now I don't get a chance to
do that this year.
So.
But, hey,
if they are trying to get bigger and
trying to actually become an in-person
qualifier for the Masters CrossFit Games,
then good on them.
Like we need,
we could use more of it.
We could use more of it.
I know myself,
like that's my big goal this year is
to be able to compete in person for
a spot at the games.
And if there's more opportunities for that
next year,
because they are moving their stuff around
and becoming like getting themselves in a
window to be a qualifier,
then good on them.
I hope they do.
I really do.
Yeah.
I think it's actually good for them as
an organization.
I think they are a bunch of guys
who care about the sport and care about
the Masters community.
And sometimes their visions of grandeur
get ahead of them.
Yes.
And a year to just kind of like
reset,
get refocused on what they should be and
what they need to do to become that
is probably a good thing for MFC.
It's a great location.
It's a great time.
I want them to be successful.
It's the smallest airport I've ever been
in my entire life.
But yes, besides that,
it's this great location.
It actually might be the smallest airport
I've ever been in my entire life.
Cause it was, yeah.
Maryland was the smallest I've ever been
in.
And that's when I flew on a plane
where they said to me and my coworker,
can you get it sit on opposite sides
of the plane?
You need to balance the weight.
We were on a full size airplane,
but like literally you go through
security,
the one security gate with two lines and
that's it.
That's all there is.
And the gift shop slash restaurant slash
whatever, like it's just one thing, right?
Like you want to eat.
That's what you're eating.
Do with that,
the five things they got on the menu
and you go through the terminal,
like to the actual gate and it's just.
It was all us.
We were the only people flying out of
there.
It was all CrossFitters,
so we all pretty much knew each other.
That was a good time.
When we pulled up to the Ocean City
airport, I've seen BP stations bigger.
Yeah, I believe it.
Yeah,
like literally they pulled up to the front
door.
You came down the steps off the plane.
And this was not a private jet.
This is not like what you think.
And then you just,
you pulled open the door, you went in,
and there was your suitcase sitting on the
floor.
You grabbed it.
And then you went out the other end,
and there's where like the three cabs from
the entire town were there.
Yeah, well, that was the other thing too.
Like there's probably five Ubers there.
on that side of, uh,
where we were in, in Fort Wayne.
Like we got the same guy twice in
a night.
That does not happen.
If you get an Uber, uh, lunch,
the three D old sandwich.
Yeah.
Um, well with that, that was fun.
It's been a fun day news flying by,
uh,
Can't wait to see what happens this
weekend with the workouts and everything
going on.
My last question to you is, okay,
the Hill herself thing is over.
I know we weren't going to talk about
it anymore.
How many,
what do you think the percentage of people
in the comments are going to say it
was staged?
Oh, I would conservatively.
Eighty-five percent.
Conservatively,
I would say percent of people will be
like, they staged the whole thing.
And honestly,
I'm just telling you right now.
Yes.
Conservatively,
eighty five percent of the people in the
comments are going to say that it was
staged.
I haven't even looked at them.
And I can guarantee you,
if I go look at them now,
it's going to be, I told you so.
I told you it was staged.
Told you.
I called it.
I knew it.
Oh, it was staged.
Guaranteed.
Guaranteed.
Not a question in my mind, dude.
I want to say,
I don't believe it was staged.
I don't believe it was staged either.
But here's the thing, I also don't care.
I...
I've met both of those people in person.
They are both good human beings.
And whether they staged it or not,
I do not care.
I didn't care while it was happening.
I was just like, oh,
mom and dad are fighting.
Okay, cool.
Moving right along with it with the rest
of my day.
It's just the ridiculousness of it just
kept stacking, right?
He'll put out a new video.
uh uh taylor put out a new video
he had to pull out a new video
that was all in one day and like
during the whole thing hillary's breaking
his own rules like audio was terrible on
the beach with the wind blowing through
the mic yes like all the taylor starts
off like yeah he made a good point
he made a good point then goes unhinged
and just blasts like it was
Taylor stuff was funny because of that,
because he was on a conservative note.
I would say eighty five conservative
conservatively.
Eighty five percent.
Taylor stuff was funny because of that,
because he was like, oh, no,
he made some really good points.
No, you know, you know, you're right.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And then we went from that to F
that guy and his entire family.
And I'm never speaking to him again.
And he's a horrible human being.
And just like threw all the things out,
dude.
And then Taylor would make another video.
Taylor would come out, start off composed.
And then go right off into it.
Yeah.
Like you,
I've met both of them in person.
I like both of the guys.
I think they're both cool.
But I...
I, I do kind of,
I do kind of like that.
We're just kind of our over own little
thing over here.
Yeah.
A hundred percent.
Right.
Like a hundred percent.
And it just, and it,
it made it easier to just observe.
Yeah.
Here's the thing you can ask me,
like you were the one of the few
people who could ask me about it and
I can go, I don't care.
And we can just move on.
Like,
Do I think this?
Yes.
Do I think that?
No.
And okay, let's,
what else do we have on the docket
for the day?
Because it's just so silly.
Lupe says it was not staged.
I agree with you.
I don't think it was staged.
I don't think it was staged.
The conversation that happened today on
Savan,
I think it's pretty obvious it was not
staged.
And the internal battle that
Andrew went through trying to figure all
this out in his head before he made
the video, I think was very telling.
And he was very transparent about that.
Yeah.
But it,
but it did turn very high school and
Vicky's right.
She doesn't even go here.
Everyone in the space loves CrossFit.
Why?
When someone thinks differently,
they go after each other.
So petty to me.
I, I don't know.
I, I,
I might very well go home and watch
Mean Girls just because.
What I think makes these discussions fun
is when we do disagree.
A hundred percent.
Then you get to kind of talk it
out.
Why do you feel that?
Why?
And I think it actually makes better
content, right?
Yeah, absolutely.
I am telling, you know,
the comments I've gotten about Jamie and I
fighting and how much people like that
banter.
But at the end of the day,
I love that girl.
She's my sister.
We talk all the time.
And this week,
Carolyn has stepped up and taken the place
of Jamie.
And Carolyn and I have been scrapping all
week.
And we'll probably do that on Sunday Night
Show because I'm going to bring up the
topic that started it all with her this
week.
And we went back and forth for like
five hours on something via text.
And we're going to talk about it this
week.
And I'm going to preface it with this.
WFP gave Sarah Sigmund's daughter a wild
card invite to London.
And Carolyn vehemently disagrees with it,
and I think it's a cool move.
And we fought all week,
and we'll finish that fight Sunday night
on Sunday Night CrossFit Talk.
And you guys can watch and enjoy.
And at the end of the day,
I'm still going to love Carolyn as much
as I did when we started this fight
five days ago.
Absolutely.
But I will still die on that hill.
Right.
And I'm going to root for her every
time she takes the floor.
And that's that.
But it is...
It is comical,
the back and forth we had this week.
Yeah.
It really felt like Jamie went on vacation
and she called Carolyn and said,
all right, you have to be the one.
You have to be the one.
Look, I'm going to Florida.
So I'm going to need you to fight
with Scott the rest of the week because
I'm not going to have time to do
it.
I'm sorry.
I may have a week off,
but he's not going to get a week
off.
Correct.
It seems, Shannon says,
it seems like when you and yours fight,
you discuss with manners.
Taylor wasn't.
It's only cool if it's for show,
no points involved.
Well, there's points involved.
I mean,
and Jamie will tell you she's winning a
hundred and twenty seven to nothing.
She keeps score for everything.
But I still love her.
All of the things.
Jamie keeps score for all of the things.
If anybody needs any proof of that,
holla at me.
I got a story for you real quick.
I've got a text she sent me this
week that will show she keeps score for
everything.
A hundred percent, dude.
A hundred percent.
I know some really competitive people and
I know Jamie.
Do you understand?
Because there's levels to that shit.
Vicky says end of the day,
the issue is one of pure ego.
Otherwise they would have been able to
talk about it like adults way before now.
Yeah.
I don't want to criticize because emotions
do make, listen, people piss me off.
Like cameraman getting in front of
athletes and I get emotional and then I
lose my shit and,
and then I go off and that's fine.
But with that being said,
We're going to head into the weekend.
I hope you guys have a great weekend.
Don't forget,
we have to freaking turn our clocks ahead
an hour.
Oh, my God.
Is that this weekend?
So we'll have some more sunlight during
the day.
Thank goodness.
It's going to this fifty six year old
body don't like change.
And I'm so stupid.
That's a whole show.
That's an entire show.
I'm how dumb it is.
With that, I hope you guys,
your bodies adjust well because it is the
open weekend.
Take some thirdsy on Saturday night when
you move your clock ahead so you're good,
rested, recovered on Sunday morning.
When you wake up,
you're going to need it.
Jazzy.
Don't forget, jazzy is the word.
With that,
we'll see everybody on Sunday night
CrossFit Talk and then Monday with lunch
with the Clydesdale.
Bye, guys.
